WMF ranks among top ten brands for the sixth time in a row

At this year’s Best Brands Awards ceremony, the WMF brand finished in third place in the prestigious category “Best Brands Overall”, and for the sixth time in a row was classed among the top ten best product brands in the German brand ranking – directly behind Bosch and Lego. The ranking, which is measured against actual economic market success and brand perception by consumers, is based on a study by the German Consumer Research Association (GfK), whereby it is the consumers alone who decide and not a jury.

Geislingen/Steige  – This year, the awards were presented on the digital stage for the very first time and on February 24 the gala was broadcast live from the TV studios of Seven.One Entertainment Group. The renowned prizes were awarded by GfK together with the Serviceplan Group, ProSiebenSat.1 Media SE, WirtschaftsWoche, Markenverband, DIE ZEIT, RMS Radio Marketing Service and Media Impact. To take into account current social and marketing trends, this year – besides the annual “Best Brands Overall” – new categories for “Best Brand Health & Wellbeing”, “Best Brand Consumer Electronics” and “Best Brand Customer Centricity” were also added.

“Finishing among the top three best brands shows that our sustainable brand management and consistent premium positioning of the WMF brand are paying off. Besides product innovations and our characteristic design, the basis for this success also includes strong, emotional brand experiences for consumers, both online and offline,” says Kilian Manninger, President Consumer BU WMF Group.

Best Brands is the only marketing award based on comprehensive, representative studies of the German Consumer Research Association (GfK) that measures the strength of a brand against two criteria: its actual economic market success (in other words, share of market) and the attractiveness of the brand as perceived by consumers (share of soul). More than 10,000 consumers take part in the different Best Brands studies and, together with the 30,000 households on the GfK Consumer Panel and 27,000 businesses on the GfK Retail & Technology Panel, form the empirical basis – every year, the consumers choose the winners from more than 300 potential Best Brands candidates in around 40 sectors. Since 2004, the Best Brands Awards have honored Germany’s best brands. Besides the annual “Best Brand Overall”, in 2021 brands from certain areas of life which have been of particular importance throughout the year have been analyzed too.
